Tearing Apart My Bedroom

Hola darlings!

It's now 10:37 p.m. my time according to my computer.  I've been taking pictures (gasp!) of the entire process of tearing my bedroom apart, except I couldn't quite get me actually vacuuming and photographing at the same time, so I won't be posting any of those photos...

This photo is totally out of sequence.  But I'm eating right now (it's 1:00 a.m.)
and I don't give a Royal Hoot! Updated on February 11:  This "before" photo shows
my triple mirror and dresser and my old but still comfy wing chair in the corner, loaded
with stuff that I'm pondering either trying to fit into by losing another 15 pounds or
giving to Purple Heart...  Junk on the dresser too.  And my cold air return is filthy, yech!
After I hang my mosquito net tomorrow I'm going to haul the ladder over to it and
clean that sucker.  This photo is one of the main reasons why I decided to rearrange
my bedroom.  First, my feet are sort of pointing toward the door - according to Feng Shui
lore, this is NOT a good thing; second, having a mirror directly opposite your bed
is also NOT a good thing according to said lore.  And so...

But, I did get photos of "before!"  Ta Da!  I started taking these shortly after 9:00 p.m. Central Time...so yeah, it was dark as hell outside.  I finished taking the first round of pics at 9:33 p.m. on my digital clock...
View of master bedroom walking in from mini-hallway.  What's that on the bureau?  A glass of wine,
you say... This photo was taken in "Scene Mode."  But even in this  light, you can see that the toile drapes
just don't "go" with the wall color...  New lamp from J.C. Penney on top of bureau, until it finds a new home...
Hmmm, in this photo, the room actually looks pretty good...  That's a picture of a birdy above the bed in a pretty frame.
The comforter and shams are a cream/grey/beige floral toile print on one side, and grey/cream/beige stripe on the other side.  At the  foot of the bed is a down "throw" that I added for warmth when it's extra cold outside (like tonight, brrrr).
"Pharmacy style" lamp over the nightstand was never meant to be there, but I never replaced the lamp after I switched
out the room from\bubble-gum pink.  The pharmacy lamp was a temporary fix... since November, 2009...  I donated
my mini pik and white floral lamp to the Goodwill.  I didn't know about "re-purposing" and such, back then...

I tried a "close-up" of these drapes, and just like trying to take a close-up
of Gloria Swanson during the filming of "Sunset Boulevard," it just didn't work!
But, now, I'm beginning to see the light, sort of. My "Powder Puff" walls
look sort of pinkish (not surprised, since it covered over bubble-gum pink paint!)
in this light.  My toile drapes are definitely yellow, but an icky shade of yellow. And they do not
go with the crisp black and white check of my sheets and pillow cases...

My nightstand, to my right.  And I'm left-handed!  Old pharmacy-style lamp gives me light.
But really, I don't read in bed.  I sleep in my comfy bed.  But I do read in my bedroom --
in the chair.  And there's no light near it!
Hmmmm... Anyway, my wonderful little Nikon Coolpix 5600 which, yes I know, is by current standards extremely ancient, has been giving me BATTERY EXHAUSTED signs all night long.  And so I've been shutting it off and then turning it back on some minutes later and taking pictures in "Scene" mode because I don't know how to turn on the damn flash any other way (I've tried, believe me, I've tried) and now the bedroom is more or less rearranged in the position it will be in when I put up the - GASP!!!!! - (REALLY BIG GASP HERE, PLEASE) MOSQUITO NET CANOPY OVER MY BED!!!!  That will be sometime tomorrow, after I finish priming and painting the kitchen and dinette wall areas where the ancient wallpaper border was removed.

Really.

While I'm waiting for the battery on the camera to "recharge" itself I'm going to go scrub myself off after a long hard day of of working. It's 10:41 p.m. right now.

I'm very proud of myself.  I started shoving furniture around, after taking numerous "BEFORE" photos, at 9:33 p.m. on my Dream Machine (radio alarm clock that works like fricking magic and it scares me half to death, really it does; plus I set the time like 6 minutes and 200th of a centipede of two giga-minutes faster than "real" time, just to get my ass moving in the morning five days a week Monday through Friday when I work in the Jerkoid Filled Real World.  Sigh.  After I moved everything around I plugged the Dream Machine back in and - it was on the correct time!  Now how the hell did it KNOW, I ask you...

Anyway, while the battery on my lovely little Nikon is recharging I'm going to go pee and then scrub up and I'll be back!

Yeah, I've actually got my trusty "old" Toshiba laptop hooked up here in the bedroom right now, because none of my local radio stations plays smooth jazz anymore, and so I listen to it online!  YEAAHHH! Love listening to Smooth Jazz on SKY FM.  I'm no techy chick, that's for sure.  But there sure is something to be said about this "wireless internet connection" stuff...
